DIALOGUE WITH THOSE WHO DISAGREE

The focus of the working group is engagement with people those who are not  in sympathy with LGBT issues. The remit of the group is to establish ways of opening communication and dialogue with those who disagree, and the provision of appropriate educational resources

ENGAGING WITH THE POWER STRUCTURES

The group is engaged in several areas of work which include surveys of existing structures, engagement with Synod and Synod Elections, dialogue with the Archbishop of Canterbury and House of Bishops  and the organisation or promotion of public events.

Work completed includes meetings held, statements made and ways forward found in response to the Archbishop of Canterbury’s response to The Episcopal Church in the United States (TEC) over the summer. The wide contact network of the group, which enabled this work to be undertaken and  the nature and extent of response by the press has been noted.

The rapid wide response to these issues will demand better and better communication systems which this coalition should gradually be able to supply.
